Congratulations GenMed and Lab Mom's Top 5 Picks of the Week: February 3 - 9, 2013

First, congratulations go to .... Eric Hoffman, Kristy Brown and others from the Research Center for Genetic Medicine at Children's National Medical Center in Washington DC on the Board of Visitors gift of $500,000 for a new mass spectrometer. Eric and Kristy presented their funding request for the gift and it was overwhelmingly approved.  

The Board of Visitors is a group of philanthropists providing a "critical volunteer force and important source of fundraising since the hospital's founding in 1870." 

The Proteomics Core in the Research Center for Genetic Medicine is developing surrogate biomarkers for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
